Account security

Lexi Communications will take reasonable steps to protect personal information we hold from misuse and loss from unauthorised access, modification and disclosure, in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Students can also help to protect the privacy of their personal information by maintaining the confidentiality of their account, and by ensuring that they log out of their account on our website when they have finished using it. In addition, if they become aware of any security breach, they should let us know as soon as possible.

Students must keep their password and username safe. Each student is given their own password and username, which cannot be used for any other person. Users can be banned if the system detects that this has occurred.

Please see our Privacy Policy for more information.

Course enrolment

Course enrolment is considered complete when the student has been issued a username and password for online course access and has paid for the course.

Course access duration is effective from the date and time of registration.

The duration of the course is stated in the online information about the course and the introductory web page for the course.

If the student does not complete the course within the duration period, they may apply for an extension before the enrolment expiry date (see below).

Subject to any necessary government approvals, we reserve the right at any time to amend, alter or withdraw any course, unit or module which is currently being offered, and to vary prices for modules, units or services.

Once the access duration for a course has ended, the student will no longer be able to access the course material.

The site may occasionally be unavailable during scheduled maintenance but this will be extremely rare.

Access duration extensions

If the student wishes to continue with their course beyond the expiry date, they must apply for an access duration extension before the expiry date in writing either via the website contact form or by emailing info[at]lexicommunications.com.au directly. An extension fee of half the original course cost may apply, depending on the circumstances.

Some programs may not be eligible for a duration extension.

Use of course materials

Course materials are supplied for the access duration of the course. Once that duration ends, access is denied. Therefore students will need to save and/or copy content as required for reference purposes (adhering to our Copyright Policy).

Unless otherwise stated, the material published within this website is subject to Australian copyright laws and cannot be reproduced in whole or in part without express permission from Lexi Communications. See our Copyright Policy for more information.

Payment information

All payment for courses are processed via either PayPal or Stripe and all prices quoted within this website are in Australian dollars (AUD).

Students are required to pay the full amount of the course fees even if they do not complete the course.

Refund policy

If Lexi Communications needs to cancel a course for any reason, students enrolled at the time will be entitled to a full refund, with no administrative charges or penalties.

Withdrawal during course

Once students have commenced the course by accessing the system, they will not be entitled to a refund if they cancel, except possibly under the following circumstances.

Withdrawal due to illness or hardship

If a student is unable to complete a course due to illness or extreme hardship, we may allow a refund of the fees or an access duration extension, depending on the circumstances.
